Primary RoleConduct in-depth equity research to generate long-term investment ideas and short-term trading recommendations for institutional and regional retail clients. Provide effective support to the Group and Country Investment Banking teams in driving revenue generation. Key ResponsibilitiesRespond to requests from Institutional Equity Sales teams and their clients in a timely manner, offering robust research support to the Group Wholesale Banking and Group Investment Banking revenue pillars. Undertake and maintain research coverage on assigned stocks and sectors, which involves:
Actively monitoring micro and macroeconomic factors influencing the relevant stocks and sectorsConducting regular visits to companies and organisations within the sectorGenerating investment ideas, including identifying sales and trading opportunitiesPromptly writing research reports based on these investment ideasConsistently and timely updating clients on key sector developmentsAssisting in the production and coordination of research publications, as well as the organisation of corporate-client engagement events (e. g. NDRs, conferences, etc.
)Meeting performance targets for the Equity Research team, such as internal client votes and external analyst pollsAccompany the Head of Research or Head of Regional Sector on marketing roadshows and client servicing activities, both domestically and in overseas markets, as assigned.
Qualifications, Experience And SkillsA university degree in a finance-related discipline is preferredBetween 3 to 5 years of research experience at an established financial institutionPrior experience in independently covering listed equities in the ASEAN marketsIndustry experience would be an added advantageAbility to obtain the necessary licence to conduct “Regulated Activities” under the Financial Advisers Act, SingaporeMBA or CFA qualification is preferredExcellent written and verbal communication skills in EnglishProficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPointFamiliarity with financial market databasesAll Analysts MustDemonstrate strong teamwork to deliver a cohesive research productCollaborate closely with Board Members and other senior management to enhance RHB’s research output and brandEnsure full compliance with all legal and regulatory standards to uphold a high level of integrity in RHB’s research team and its outputs
