Job Description

The postholder is responsible for supporting the development and delivery of the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF) and associated governance agenda. In particular, they will be responsible for leading the engagement elements of the Trustwide PSIRF along with associated key initiatives identified through the Trust governance framework. These initiatives will require a high level of planning, negotiating, analytical and sensitive communication skills.The post holder will take full responsibility for a number of projects and routine workstreams. The projects will cover a wide range of topics, all related to the improvement of patient safety and learning from incidents.For specific projects, the post holder will be responsible for analysing situations, devising project action plans, setting up and leading on the project, guiding and monitoring staff to implement project objectives and auditing project outcomes. In addition, s/he will develop systems and avenues of feedback of project progress and problems and produce revised actions plans to meet the agreed objectivesThe post holder will support, promote and evaluate the Trusts learning culture across the organisation.Psirf Lead on the engagement with patients, families and staff as a key element of the framework Co-ordinate and oversee Trust compliance with Duty of Candour Support the investigation and learning processProject Management The post holder will manage and lead on a varied range of projects. Assess situations and identify areas of good practice and areas for potential improvement, using their specialised clinical expertise in partnership with clinical teams. Draw up project plans in terms of identifying such aspects as who to involve, actions to take, outcomes expected and timescales. Ensure that systems are in place to collect information and data relating to ongoing projects to inform improvement Produce a variety of reports and make recommendations for further action based on findings Arrange and lead relevant meetings related to the development/redesign of the projects Frequently devise, facilitate and deliver a variety of training relating to delivery of objectives / project and to prepare staff for changes in practice Communicate to appropriate staff, either locally or Trustwide, of changes being implemented from projects using all appropriate channels.Shared Learning Play an active role in embedding of a learning culture across the organisation which encourages learning and actions that promote improvement.At the Dudley Group our patients and staff are at the heart of all that we do and that is to provide a world class service that aligns with our vision of “excellent health care, improved health for all”.
