Operations Analyst

Our client in The Woodlands, Texas is seeking an Operations & Logistics Analyst to join their team on full-time, permanent basis, with lots of opportunity to grow within the company. Job DescriptionMonitor and analyze the operational movement of vessels and cargo. Coordinate and communicate with vessel operators, agents, and cargo stakeholders to ensure timely and efficient transportation. Optimize logistics workflows to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and meet customer expectations. Support data collection and reporting on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure operational success. Handle documentation, including chartering agreements, bills of lading, letters of credit, logistics contracts, etc.

Analyze vessel schedules and rates while identifying potential roadblocks and preparing contingency plans. Assist in budgeting and forecasting related to logistics and operations. Collaborate across departments (chartering, operations, and supply chain) to drive organizational success. Stay abreast of industry trends in maritime logistics while proactively proposing process improvements. Learn and grow in areas of vessel operations, chartering, and supply chain analytics. QualificationsMinimum of 2+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, or a related field (required). Foundational knowledge of the maritime, vessel, and shipping logistics industries (required). Hands-on experience or understanding of chartering and vessel operations is highly preferred.

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field is strongly preferred. Strong communication skills and the ability to manage relationships with various stakeholders. An analytical mindset and proficiency in data reporting and analysis. Attention to detail when managing logistics documentation. Willingness to learn and take on new challenges in the maritime logistics industry. Proficiency in logistics management software or ERP systems.
