You'll carry out inspections, servicing, and repairs on rail rollingstock, diagnose faults, and perform preventative maintenance. This is a hands-on role where you'll respond to breakdowns, support upgrades, and work collaboratively to improve fleet performance.What You'll DoConduct scheduled inspections and preventative maintenancePerform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic repairsDiagnose and rectify faults using diagnostic toolsEnsure compliance with safety standards and manufacturer specificationsRespond to operational incidents, including after-hours calloutsRequirementsEssential Skills Required: Trade qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or related discipline)Experience in heavy vehicle, rail, or industrial maintenanceStrong diagnostic and problem-solving skillsAbility to interpret technical drawings and schematicsCommitment to safety and quality standardsDesirable Skills:Previous rail industry experienceKnowledge of rail-specific systems and standardsWelding/fabrication skillsBenefitsFree Train Travel: Enjoy complimentary train travel on Auckland passenger trains.
