Job Purpose: The Sourcing is responsible to develop vendors ensuring adequate supply of components for existing/New products as per design changes, / capacity enhancements/ replacements within the cost, quantity and quality targets. The incumbent will lead the team and monitor vendor management, vendor payment processing and vendor performance evaluation. Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with various teams to understand product requirements and parts speciļ¬cationsIdentify potential suppliers and send RFQ to them based on part design and bill of materials received from current engineering teamLiaise with vendors/ suppliers on a regular basis for sourcing of components and partsGauge capability of suppliers by conducting design for manufacturing (DFM) discussions with suppliersCollaborate with cross-functional teams to identify modiļ¬cations/ changes required and work towards reducing rejection rates of incoming partsReview order status and ensure adherence to Direct on line targets and business plan targets/vehicleCalculate target costing for components in collaboration with the Cost Management team and ensure that proposed suppliers meet the target bandEvaluate performance and propose suppliers based on suitable evaluation in collaboration with the Quality Assurance teamProvide technical guidance (mechanical and engineering feedback) to shortlisted suppliers in order to meet component reliability, supply chain eļ¬ciency and overall cost reductionSupervise supplier quality engineers responsible for component release; conduct component inspection auditsResolve quality issues and monitor corrective procedures as per guidelines speciļ¬ed by quality assuranceEnsure completion of the Product Part Approval process in collaboration with Current Engineering and Quality assurance teamEnsure a smooth handover to procurement team for sourcing material for start of production runsBattery & On Board Charger:
Should have experience in development of Cells, Battery Packs and other Battery Pack child parts, Chargers, DC-DC ConvertersExperience in eBOM and cell sourcing, Price settlements & RM indexing of cells is added advantageShould have experience in EV Parts Sourcing, Vendor Development, Costing, Negotiation and Price SettlementShould have the exposure in Cost estimation for the Battery Pack & Chargers, DC-DC ConvertersTechnical understanding on Battery Pack assembly / Manufacturing, BMS and OBC assy, Hardware and Software.
Ability to understand the Battery engineering & BMS, draws and performance curvesE- Component , TIM, connectors & contactors knowledgeShould have the knowledge on Supplier base on EV components (Proto & Mass Production)Awareness of Market Trends, Domestic & Global govāt policies, Impact analysis, CompetitiveBenchmark data, Market IntelligenceAwareness on Automotive standards / Testing related to Chargers, Cells, Battery Packs, BMS, Thermals etc. ,Working knowledge of manufacturing and system processes (PPAP, APQP)SAP MM & PLM user experienceEducation: Bachelorās Engineering degree Electrical & Electronics / Power Electronics / ECE.
