Job DescriptionThe Company currently has a vacancy for a reliable, efficient and professional Driver/Messenger to join their team. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following: Day-to-day inspection and upkeep of the vehicle and to report any faultsDelivery and collections of various packages, parcels or documentationBanking when necessaryVarious deliveries or collections between branchesVarious deliveries and collection of staff to offsite facilities including hospital, airport etc.

Other collections or deliveries as requested by DirectorsRemittance Advices to SA Metal CustomersSubmission of tender documentationRenewal of licensesRegistration and de-registration of vehiclesChange of ownership of vehiclesPayment of and delivery of representations to Traffic department for traffic finesIn-Person reductions at State Prosecutors of the Courts (Summonses & Weighbridge Fines)Any queries that need to be done in person at the traffic departmentMaintaining good order of archiving for SA Metal and Waste ControlArchiving and retrieving of documentation for various departmentsAbide by the regulations as set out in Occupational Health and Safety Act, Company policies and the regulations of the Road Traffic Act.

Qualifying CriteriaGrade 12 certificateMust have a valid, unendorsed driver’s license with a valid PRDPAtleast 8 years of similar experienceComputer literate –MS office package proficiencyQualifying AttributesExtensive knowledge of Cape Town and surrounding areas and ability to seamlessly navigate these areasSober habitsMeticulous, accurate and attentive to detailExcellent interpersonal and communication skills at all levelsAbility to maintain confidentiality and discretionReliability and consistencyDeadline drivenThe ability to self-manage with minimal guidanceAble to meet deadlines for multiple tasks at a timeAbility to work under pressureAbility to organize and plan carefullyHard-working and self-motivatedAbility to work independently as well as in a teamTime management and organizational skillsExcellent standards in executionReporting to:
