Internal Auditor

Purpose of the JobConducts independent review of assigned activities, evaluates the adequacy and effectiveness of the controls over those activities, conducts audit assignments in accordance with accepted professional standards, reports audit findings and makes recommendations for correction of unsatisfactory conditions. Job Accountability Perform or assist in performing evaluation of significant risks & controls and ensuring comprehensive audit coverage for all activities under review including compliance with prescribed policies & procedures and relevant laws & regulations. +L20: L27Assist in determining the auditing procedures to be used, including statistical sampling and the use of electronic data processing tools.

Evaluate or assist in evaluating system’s effectiveness through application of knowledge of business systems, best practices, tool, techniques and perfomance standardsObtain, analyze, and appraise evidentiary data as a basis for an informed, objective opinion on the adequacy and effectiveness of the system and the efficiency of performance of the activities being reviewed. Assist in preparing formal reports, expressing opinions on the adequacy and effectiveness of the system and the efficiency with which activities are carried out. Appraise or assist in appraising, the adequacy of the corrective action taken to improve deficient conditions.

Guide and manage subordinates in performing audits and other assignments. Perform any other duties assigned by Line Manager. Educational QualificationBachelors degree in Accounting or Finance or Business managementRelevant professional qualification (CA/CPA/ACCA/CMA/CIA)Experience Minimum 2 years post qualification experience of which minimum 1 year internal audit experienceKnowledgeKnowledge of Internal Audit practices. Considerable knowledge of the Internal Audit Standards issued by the Institute of Internal AuditorsGood command of written and oral English. Arabic knowledge is an added advantageProficient in using MS OfficeExposure to ERP and Computer Aided Audit Techniques is preferredStrong interpersonal skills and communication skills
