As Safety & Security Co-worker you are or have:• A current Certificate of Approval (COA), First Aid & CPR certifications, or the willingness and ability to obtain them.• A strong customer focus, keeping our customers front of mind in your daily tasks.• A passion for maintaining a safe and secure environment, with a commitment to leading by example.• Strong verbal communication skills, with the ability to stay calm and deliver clear instructions during emergency situations.• The ability to manage multiple tasks, adapt to changing priorities, and stay organised.• Confidence using computers and IT systems, with solid administration skills and a strong focus on incident reporting and compliance.• A proactive, solution-focused mindset, contributing to a positive safety culture.• A collaborative approach, enjoying teamwork and supporting your colleagues when it matters most. ABOUT THIS WORK AREA As Safety & Security Co-worker your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:• Being the friendly first point of contact for visitors, contractors, and co-workers, while managing access to and from the store or external warehouse.• Providing administrative support for risk prevention and compliance activities, including audits, incident reporting, database management, and record-keeping.• Monitoring CCTV systems, conducting investigations, responding promptly to alarms, and initiating emergency procedures when required.• Supporting store compliance with IKEA policies, local regulations, and relevant legislation to protect our people, assets, and brand.• Assisting with the response and management of emergency situations, health and safety incidents, and critical events.• Promoting a strong risk and compliance culture by identifying and implementing systems to reduce business loss, prevent incidents, and minimise financial impact.• Collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure health, safety, and security standards are consistently met across all departments.• Providing timely and relevant feedback on reported incidents and acting as the key contact for internal and external case reporting.• Working on a rotating roster, including evenings and weekends, alongside your Facilities Management (FM) colleagues to ensure coverage for the IKEA store and external warehouse. • This role is permanent, part-time, 24-39 working hours per fortnight• The internal title for this role is Unit Business Risk & Compliance Co-worker• The desired start date for this role is 17 November 2025• As our store operates 7 days a week, you’ll need to be available to work on a rotating roster, which includes a mix of day and evening shifts aligned with our trading hours. Weekend availability is essential.• Work locations include IKEA Sylvia Park and our External Warehouse in Māngere.• As part of the recruitment process, final candidates will be required to undergo a pre-employment check, including a Ministry of Justice (MOJ) check.• IKEA is a non-smoking workplace.
