This role is key in ensuring safe working practices and the wellbeing of our people in shipyards and in-house production facilities worldwide.Your responsibilitiesDevelop and implement an occupational safety strategy in line with our operational goals.Ensure compliance with international workplace safety standards (e.g. ISO 45001, OSHA) and local regulations.Carry out risk assessments, audits, and lead incident investigations.Deliver engaging health & safety training and strengthen a culture of wellbeing.Lead change management initiatives to embed safety into daily operations and drive continuous improvement.Work closely with project managers, site supervisors, in-house production teams, and HR to make occupational safety a natural part of everyday work.What you bringProven experience in occupational safety management in construction site environments – ideally shipbuilding, heavy construction, or other large-scale industrial projects.Solid knowledge of international occupational health & safety standards (e.g. ISO 45001, OSHA).Strong leadership, communication, and change management skills.Ability to work effectively across cultures and geographies.Fluency in Finnish and English; other languages are an advantage.Who you arePersistent in driving occupational safety excellence.A cooperative team player who builds trust across borders.A promoter of workplace wellbeing.Committed to continuous learning and improvement.Guided by integrity in every decision.What we offerA chance to shape occupational safety processes with full ownership and real impact.A diverse, international team and positive work environment.Plenty of opportunities for professional growth within a top-tier company.Flexible working arrangements.This recruitment process is handled in collaboration with Staffpoint Professionals, but the employment contract will be signed directly with Merima.
