Job Title: Safety OfficerDepartment: Environment, Occupational Health and Safety (EHS)Reports To: Site In-charge/Corporate EHS ManagerLocation: PALAKKAD (Kerala) and ARAKKONAM (TAMILNADU)Local Candidate Preferred: Kerala- (Malayalam), TamilNadu- (Tamil)Qualification And Experience RequirementsB. Tech or Three Years full time Diploma in Electrical/ Mechanical/ Electronics Engineering + Diploma/ Advance Diploma in Industrial Safety or one year Govt. approved regular certification on Fire & Safety.orThree years BSC degree + Diploma/ Advance Diploma in Industrial Safety or one year Govt. approved regular certification on Fire & Safety.Experience: 2 - 5 years in railway/metro/ electrification/ transmission and distribution.Roles & Responsibilities Monitoring daily operations to prevent accidents, providing safety training, conducting inspections, and ensuring the proper handling of materials, machinery, and equipment. Ensure regular tool-box-talks are being conducted at site level to spread awareness to the people working about hazards and risks associated with the jo. Ensure 100% implementation of personal protective equipment (PPEs) at site. Regular safety inspection at site identifying unsafe conditions and unsafe acts and communicate them to the site manager/ team members for further closure of the observation. To escalate any repetitive, critical observation/ site safety issue to higher management. Conducting inspections of safety equipment, PPEs, power tools and hand tools, machinery at site and heavy equipment. Any issue observed to communicate with concerned site in-charge. Prepare monthly project EHS report and share with project head and HO. Organize monthly project EHS Meeting with all project team and sub-contractor representative and other relevant stakeholders. Monitor and inspect periodically worker’s hutment and communicate any issues to concerned personnel. Conduct safety induction program for new workers joining at site, maintain induction records. Ensure adequate firefighting and first aid arrangements, nearby hospital tie-up at project in coordination with admin department. Guide and support project team in safety related matters for compliance and closure. Understand client requirements related to safety and coordinate, support project team to fulfil the same. Maintain safety records, logs, and documentation for audits and regulatory requirements. Report and investigate accidents, injuries, and near-misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Ensure proper documentation of incidents and the implementation of corrective actions. Collaborate with project managers and other team members to minimize risk through effective safety measures.
