Commercial Director / Business Development Manager – AgricultureSydney / Melbourne / BrisbaneFull-timeAn exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and motivated Commercial Director / Business Development Manager to join Genesis Algae Innovation, Australia’s largest commercial producer of algae-based products.Genesis has recently launched a ground-breaking range of organic agricultural stockfeed and fertiliser products that deliver exceptional gains in livestock growth performance and crop yield, while also lifting product quality. These natural products are redefining performance in the agriculture sector.With offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and operations in North Queensland, this role can be based flexibly across these locations or operate independently.About the RoleThis is a pivotal position within the Agriculture division, responsible for driving the commercial performance and strategic growth of the business.You will lead commercial strategy, sales, partnerships, pricing, and marketing across key agricultural sectors such as cattle, sugar cane, and horticulture, ensuring Genesis continues to set the benchmark in organic performance enhancement.We are seeking a leader with vision, strong industry insight, and proven commercial acumen – someone who thrives on growth and innovation.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic LeadershipDevelop and execute commercial strategies aligned with business growth targets.Identify and assess new markets, partnerships, and expansion opportunities.Lead pricing, distribution, and product positioning strategies to maximise performance.Sales and Business DevelopmentDrive sales and profitability across national agricultural markets.Build relationships with farmers, distributors, agribusinesses, and key stakeholders.Provide agronomic and product support to clients.Attend expos, trade shows, and promotional events to grow brand awareness.Monitor commercial KPIs, competitor activity, and market trends.Marketing and Brand ManagementDevelop and oversee promotional, educational, and training initiatives.Strengthen brand positioning and market presence across agricultural sectors.Integrate customer feedback into future product and marketing plans.Financial and Operational ManagementOwn the commercial P&L for the agricultural division.Ensure sound budgeting, forecasting, and ROI analysis.Drive continuous improvement in commercial processes and operations.About YouBachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, or Business (MBA preferred).10+ years’ experience in senior commercial or business development roles within agriculture, livestock, or cropping sectors.Proven track record in driving growth and managing cross-functional teams.Strong negotiation, relationship management, and strategic planning skills.Deep understanding of the Australian agricultural landscape and networks.Why Join GenesisYou will be joining a company that is genuinely changing the game in sustainable agriculture – delivering products that enhance productivity naturally.A competitive remuneration package will be offered, aligned to experience and impact.
