Job Description

Purpose of the Role:We are looking for a dynamic Commercial Cards – Sales & Operations Specialist to drive the growth of our Commercial Cards portfolio through proactive sales efforts and robust operational support. This role is critical in ensuring a smooth client journey — from onboarding and card issuance to post-issuance services and customer satisfaction.The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in commercial card products, operational excellence, and relationship management with Financial Institutions (FIs) and corporate clients.Key Responsibilities:Drive the expansion of the Commercial Cards portfolio by developing and converting a healthy pipeline of Large Market / B2B opportunities with Financial Institutions (FIs).Lead sales discussions and product pitches with FI partners and end clients, using Mastercard materials to design compelling sales narratives.Identify and engage key bank stakeholders in alignment with Mastercard strategy to create, drive, and close partnership deals.Train FI sales teams and develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to enhance product knowledge and process efficiency.Coordinate with internal teams (Sales, Implementation, Card Operations, Relationship Management, and Mastercard Program Management) to ensure seamless onboarding and activation of new clients.Monitor new clients for card activation, usage, and growth, providing feedback and support to ensure smooth performance.Manage corporate card requests (limits, issuance, blocks, chargebacks) and address operational issues promptly.Conduct Direct-to-Corporate (D2C) engagement activities with large/mid-market corporates for card program expansion.Review and recommend process improvements, track results, and report outcomes via dashboards and MIS updates to senior management.Participate in client meetings and steering committees, providing updates on KPIs, risks, and progress.Leverage Mastercard assets and resources to optimize sales and operational performance. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):Feedback from internal stakeholders (Head of Commercial Cards, Relationship Managers, Product Teams).Feedback and satisfaction levels from corporate customers.Operational efficiency metrics (e.g., level of Straight-Through Processing - STP).Gross Dollar Volume (GDV) growth across the commercial cards portfolio.Increased utilization rates within low-usage card segments.Required Skills & Knowledge:Strong understanding of Commercial Card products and Corporate Banking operations.Proven experience managing card operations, providing actionable insights, and optimizing workflows.Deep familiarity with Card Management Systems (CMS) and their applications.Strong track record of B2B payments expertise and knowledge of the commercial payments landscape.Ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive cross-functional collaboration.Thorough understanding of local regulations, compliance requirements, and market dynamics.Demonstrated success in sales strategy, client acquisition, and portfolio growth.
