Job DescriptionThis entry-level professional accounting role involves applying sound accounting principles to maintain accurate financial records, support general ledger activities, and assist in preparing financial reports. The position plays a vital part in safeguarding sacred funds donated to advance the Church’s religious mission, under the guidance of senior ecclesiastical leaders.Responsibilities Process, review and monitor invoices submitted for payment Review, correct and reconcile ledgers and other financial data including journal entries and other adjustments Ensure completion and filing of statutory reports Ensures compliance with internal controls Support and liaise with key customers Support local unit leaders with CUBS related matters Support Church receipting functions Manage petty cash, including reconciliation and replenishment Perform daily banking Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Management or related field Solid understanding of financial and accounting theory Experience with Oracle/Peoplesoft or related accounting software is advantageous Strong interpersonal skills: courteous, tactful, and effective communication Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Samoan Ability to apply academic knowledge to Church-specific systems and policies Operate within defined guidelines and policies Refers complex decisions to supervisors or senior accountants Please note that only those with current legal status to reside and work in Samoa should apply for this position.
