The ideal candidate for this position will succeed in this role if they have both knowledge and technical depth about the company and the industry. This is essential as they will be a central person in the decision making process, working with multiple individuals across different teams when necessary. As a result, they will also be overseeing specific personnel. ResponsibilitiesAssess equipment FAT/delivery status and track licensing preparation progress. Preparation of Energization procedure, define SAT/energization management objectives. Develop an equipment list for monitoring construction progress of key devices (SWGR/MCC/TR/Busduct, etc. ).
Compile a list of managed electrical equipment. Define and enter the level of construction item management. Manage SAT schedule/Vendor SV manpower utilization/test equipment operation, etc. Review/adapt test items from the standard SAT list according to project traits, and specify test subjects (R&R) considering the capabilities of the testing specialist company and regional features. Confirm SAT procedures, including equipment-specific ones. Manage SAT with emphasis on functional testing. Assemble necessary engineering documents (drawings, vendor prints, FAT reports) for energization. Manage punch status related to energization.
Collaborate with the project management team to achieve project timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Work jointly with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) engineers and operations teams. Participate in vendor/subcontractor meetings. QualificationsA Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred. Relevant certifications in Electrical Engineering, Electric Apparatus or Electric Work are preferred. ExperienceA minimum of 10 years' experience in testing Substation equipment such as Switchgear, MCC, Transformer, etc, ideally in the oil and gas or petrochemical sectors. Thorough knowledge of electrical systems design and site testing methods.
Understanding of complete project schedule, energization requirement and procedureDemonstrated experience in leading and coordinating electrical equipment testing activities. Familiarity with protection devices.
