We're looking for the Site Manufacturing Unit Head who will be responsible for the leadership and strategic direction of our large scale manufacturing operations, ensuring excellence in quality, supply reliability, cost efficiency, safety, and compliance.
This role will oversee end-to-end production processes, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and foster a high-performance culture that supports innovation, collaboration, and operational excellence. Your Key ResponsibilitiesYour responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Define and communicate the manufacturing vision and deliver on the objectives as a key member of the site leadership team. Build, lead, develop, and inspire manufacturing teams to deliver performance aligned with the supply goals. Drive a culture of safety, quality, and operational excellence across the production organization. Represent Manufacturing during site inspections and external audits, ensuring inspection readiness and compliance.
Oversee all manufacturing operations to ensure reliable supply of high-quality drug substances in compliance with GMP. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reliability, reduce costs, and optimize resource utilization. Champion the implementation of Lean principles, digitalization, and data-driven decision-making in manufacturing processes. Oversee the successful integration of new products, technologies, and process changes into the manufacturing area. What You Will Bring To The RoleEducation: MSc in Biotechnology, Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field. Industry Experience: Minimum of 10 years in biopharmaceutical manufacturing or manufacturing technology roles, with significant exposure to large-scale operations. Bioprocessing Expertise:
Deep hands-on knowledge of mammalian cell culture, protein purification, and large-scale stainless-steel bioreactor operations, from seed train to drug substance manufacturing. Operational Reliability & Cost Acumen: Experienced in Opex tools delivering high manufacturing reliability and supply performance, while optimizing costs and driving operational efficiency. Regulatory & Compliance Acumen: Strong understanding of global regulatory expectations for GMP manufacturing, process validation, tech transfer, and biosimilar submissions; ability to lead effective investigations and make sound scientific decisions. Leadership & Cross-functional Collaboration: Proven ability to lead large teams and collaborate across departments in a matrixed, multinational environment. Communication & Stakeholder Management:
Clear and influential communicator, skilled at managing large teams, stakeholders, regulatory bodies and global partners. Problem Solving & Innovation: Strategic thinker with a continuous improvement mindset; capable of driving innovation while ensuring compliance and operational excellence. Language Skills: Fluency in English is required; knowledge of the local language is a plus but not mandatory.
