ROLE PURPOSE:
He/she will be responsible for overseeing and mentoring partner staff on the implementation of mental health and psychosocial support services and activities. He/she will receive training and coaching from CPiE advisor on partner capacity strengthen. He/she will work closely with PC to report on information and data of partner’s implementation on all MHPSS and Community Level Child Protection activities. He/she will guide partner staff on volunteer’s supervision and coaching, identify competency gaps and ways to improve.
Work with the child protection team to ensure close links with case management and community-based child protection mechanism and six grave violation monitoring and reporting mechanisms. Collaborate with other departments/sectors to ensure the implementation is on track according to the implementation plan. Regular Contact of basic factual informationKEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITYTo collaborate with CP project staff, partner staff and community members to deliver tailored MHPSS and activities to address the psychosocial needs of children and families, providing PFA, safe recognition of child protection concern and safe referral and promote child development and well-being. To deliver training sessions for partner staff on PFA and PSS activities including group PSS, life skill, positive parenting, self-care, Girls Friendly Space and etc.
Coaching and mentoring partner staff in implementing MHPSS services through mobile CFS, GFS and Woman Safe Space to children and families in conflict affected or hard-to-reach areas. To support the partner staff in dissemination of key mental health and psychosocial support messages to children, their families, communities, schools, and other stakeholders to raise awareness on the child mental health and wellbeing in the crisis contexAssist and support CP and partner staff to conduct robust child protection monitoring and needs assessments in communities to identify concerns and gaps in services.
Support activation and regular updating of community-level child protection mapping and referral pathways. Coaching and mentoring support to partner staff in implementing Community Level Child Protection activities. Assist PM/PC and CPiE advisor in developing capacity planning for partner staff on MHPSS & CLCPAssist the supervisor in preparing reports on MHPSS program activities, progress, and to inform other program challenges. Ensuring and maintaining quality of MHPSS activities.
Necessary to attend the relevant trainings in order to conduct CP (CM, MHPSS and CLCP) related activities according to project requirementAny other tasks assigned by supervisor and next level line managerChild SafeguardingMake sure that you, community volunteers (such as community workforce) are aware of Child Safeguarding and code of conduct and apply all the time. QUALIFICATIONS University degree in psychology, social science, child development, public health, humanitarian related or equivalent experiences. At least 3 years of experience working in humanitarian aid, MHPSS and/or child protection, is an asset.
Experiences of working with partner organizations would be preferableEssential EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS Desirable Demonstrated skills and experience in implementing child protection programming. At least 3 years in implementing and working with children and youth. The ability of using computer is desirable. High motivation to work under difficult circumstances. Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. Previous experience working for an NGO or other non-profit organization. Good interpersonal, communication skills and attention to detail. Flexible work attitude: the ability to work productively in a team environment & independently.
Commitment to and understanding of Save the Children’s aims, values and principles. A commitment to children’s rights, children’s participation, and non-discrimination. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and build strong relationships with partners and community. Strong knowledge of mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) principles, child protection standards, and best practicesAbility to work under pressure in challenging environments. Skills And Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of experience working in MHPSS programs, preferably with children and families affected by conflict or crisis. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and facilitating skills.
Ability to work in a high-conflict environment with sensitivity and cultural awareness. Ability to engage and mobilize the community to participate in project activities. Education: University degree on psychology, social science, education, child development, public health, humanitarian related or equivalent experiences. Communication And Technical Skills Good personal organizational skills, including time management, and ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure Willingness to travel to field and work in difficult environment according to travel requirements Excellent communication skills, including the ability to engage with children, families, and community members sensitively.
