Our school community is committed to providing a supportive and high-quality educational experience.About The RoleAs the Schools Officer, Grounds and Facilities, you will contribute to the efficient and effective operation of Brighton State School by ensuring the grounds and facilities are maintained to a high standard. Reporting directly to the Principal, Business Manager, or nominated delegate, you will perform a variety of tasks to support the school's operations and environment.Key Responsibilities IncludePerform day-to-day activities such as delivering mail, preparing classrooms, and maintaining school supplies and assets.Support security duties, including locking and unlocking buildings and maintaining security systems.Assist with grounds maintenance, including mowing, gardening, and preparing outdoor sporting facilities.Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements, including safe storage and handling of chemicals and equipment.Coordinate repairs and liaise with tradespersons to maintain school facilities and equipment.This role would suit someone who enjoys hands-on work, values teamwork, and takes pride in creating a safe and welcoming environment for students and staff.About YouThe following traits would be beneficial:Experience in grounds or facilities maintenance.Knowledge of workplace health and safety practices.Strong organisational and time management skills.Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.Effective communication skills to liaise with staff, students, and external personnel.Interested?
