MKS Inc. in Rankweil (Austria) is looking for aScientist (m/f/d) Ultrashort pulse lasersReference number: R14858AufgabenAs a Scientist (m/f/d) in the Laser Business Unit, you will be part of the Photonic R&D team in Rankweil (Austria), whose core task is the product development of ultrashort pulse lasers. In this role, you will report to the R&D Manager Photonic.

Your ResponsibilitiesIndependent execution of project development tasksCareful analysis and documentation of the development stepsContributing innovative solutions in product developmentTechnical supervision executions of patent and literature screeningsEnsure all work is conducted safely & in compliance with laws, regulations at MSD standards (e. g. Corporate Compliance etc.

)Strong interaction with Project Manager and R&D ManagerDriving product development projects to a successful conclusionResolving troubleshooting cases within the projectExperimental set up and cooperation with internal and external partnersSupporting the Photonic R&D TeamProfilDegree Physics or Engineering with a PhDExperience in the field of ultrafast lasers and ultrafast laser measurement methodsBasic knowledge of linear, non-linear optics and the physics of ultrashort laser pulsesLaboratory experience in building ultra-short pulse lasersYou have excellent written and spoken English skills, German is a plusCreative and proactive way of working with high quality standards and a simultaneous focus on resultsInterdisciplinary thinking and enjoyment of innovative solutionsYou are a personality with strong analytical skillsWillingness to learn and openness to changeThe gross monthly salary for this position, in accordance with the collective agreement for the chemical industry, ranges between €50,000 or €60,000 and €75,000 gross (full-time), depending on qualifications and experience.
