The Business Banking Officer is responsible for the retention and growth of an assigned portfolio of Small Business owner relationships. The officer will contribute to the profitable growth of the portfolio by meeting business development, retention and referral goals, as well as other customer service objectives. He/ she is required to identify and satisfy customers’ needs by leveraging appropriate sales tools and products. The successful candidate will:
Efficiently handling all general administration, reports, account openings, referrals, customer follow-ups, and loan closingsDevelop and maintain knowledge on customers including the nature of their business, financial position and business plansProvide business/ financial advice which increases the small business owner’s ability to succeedIdentify prospects using multiple channels including referrals; • Complete relationship/account reviews in a timely mannerAuthorize, renew or decline customer requests within Bank policies and authorized limitsConduct due diligence ensuring account adhere to conditions or authorization/ operationIdentify, escalate and resolve compliance issues and material changes within the portfolioRequired skills and qualifications for this role include:
Undergraduate degree in Business or EconomicsMinimum 3 years’ experience in executing KYC and compliance responsibilities and reviewing business financial statementsProven understanding of small business legal structures, life cycles and owner characteristicsThorough knowledge of the features and benefits of small business products and servicesThorough knowledge of applicable risk management policies and processesThorough knowledge of legal and security documentation for small business productsAdvanced skills in interviewing, solicitation and business development techniquesAbility to work with accuracy, thoroughness, flexibility and customer focus.
