We are searching for an experienced SCRUB TECHNICIAN at our DHB OR facility.Primary Duties and Responsibilities:Job SummaryThe Scrub Technician is to assist with the preparation of the Operating Room with the assistance of the RN They should possess a good knowledge of all equipment used in the Operating Room and their functions. The Scrub Technician major role is to scrub for all major and minor cases performed in the Operating Room.Essential FunctionsMaintains the par stock level in the ORPrints Preference cards for procedure .Assist in picking for other cases using preference.Takes part in weekend cleaning understanding that this is also a learning process in finding out where items are kept.Assist the circulator in positioning the patient as long as their ‘table’ is readyRelieves staff for breaks when possibleSelects appropriate instruments ,packs, equipment, and sutures for procedures with the assistance of the R.N and always using the preference cardsOpens packs using sterile techniqueScrubs for procedures using the recommended method approved by the O.R committeeGowns and gloves self and surgeons for proceduresAnticipates and responds to surgeons needs and request by passing appropriate instruments, swabs, and suturesObserves swabs instruments and needles so that they do not become misplacedAccepts specimens from the surgeon who identifies the sample and hands it off to the R.N. with any instructions for its handlingPerforms a swab instrument and needle count at the beginning of the procedure and when the first cavity is being closed with the assistance of the CirculatorCollects all instruments at the end of the procedure and makes them available for the cleaning process and sterilizationPerforms other duties within his/ her capabilities to assist with the smooth running of the departmentRelieves previous staff and receives reportIs always available to scrub for cases during their shiftRequired Qualifications:Qualifications And ExperienceMinimum Certified Scrub Technician from a college or technical school preferredMinimum Highschool DiplomaThree to six month’s experience and training in a Surgical settingMust be trained in all major areas of surgical disciplines especially Endoscopic, Orthopedic, GYN and General Surgery.Regular EmployeeAnnual Salary0.00 - 0.00
