Experience2+ years working as a Scrum Master for a software development team that was diligently applying Scrum principles, practices, and theoryFirst level Scrum Master certification (CSM, PMI-ACP, PSM I)Understand incremental delivery and the value of metricsGood skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparencyKnowledge of numerous well-documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach (example: numerous Burndown techniques, numerous Retrospective formats, handling bugs, etc.)Working knowledge of backlog tracking, burndown metrics, velocity, and task definitionWorking knowledge of the various Software Development Life Cycle methodologies (Agile, Incremental and Iterative, Scrum-ban, Lean, Waterfall)Nice to haveCertification (CSM, PSM II)Applicable knowledge of the technologies used by the teamFamiliar with Scaled Agile Frameworks: LeSS, SAFe, Nexus, Scrum @ ScaleKnowledge of other Agile approaches: XP, Kanban, Crystal, FDD, etcKnowledge and/or experience with widely successful Agile techniques: User Stories, ATDD, TDDContinuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Agile GamesWhat You'll Be Doing (daily/monthly Tasks)Organize and facilitate Scrum Events including: Daily Scrum, Backlog Refinement, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review, Sprint RetrospectiveBuild a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis on problem-solving and collaborationBe an Agile advocate, coaching the team on how to use and apply Scrum and/or Kanban practices and valuesCoach the team on the process of and benefits derived from self-organizationSupport and educate the Product Owner, especially with respect to refinement and maintaining the product backlogFacilitate getting the work done without coercion, assigning, or dictating the workFoster a safe environment for team members to engage in discussion, decision-making, and conflict resolutionBe an exemplary Servant Leader.
