Job Title: Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Manager – YouTubeLocation: Remote Department: Marketing & Content StrategyReports to: VP of MarketingOverviewTEDxMaitama is looking for an experienced and data-driven SEO Manager for YouTube to join our team. As the SEO Manager, you will be responsible for enhancing TEDxMaitama’s presence and reach on YouTube through strategic optimization efforts. You’ll work closely with content creators, marketers, and the wider digital team to ensure TEDxMaitama’s videos rank highly on YouTube search results, drive engagement, and ultimately grow our YouTube community.Key ResponsibilitiesSEO Strategy: Develop and implement SEO strategies to maximize the visibility and discoverability of TEDxMaitama’s videos on YouTube.Keyword Research: Conduct comprehensive keyword research to identify trending and relevant search terms to optimize video content.On-Page SEO: Optimize video titles, descriptions, tags, playlists, thumbnails, and other key metadata to improve rankings and audience reach.Analytics and Reporting: Monitor video performance using YouTube Analytics and Google Analytics; provide regular performance reports and insights to the team.Content Optimization: Work with video producers and content teams to ensure all videos are optimized before publishing (e.g., SEO-friendly titles, engaging thumbnails, proper tagging).Audience Growth: Implement strategies to increase watch time, engagement, and subscriber growth through SEO best practices.Stay Current: Keep up-to-date with the latest YouTube algorithm changes, trends, and SEO best practices to ensure TEDxMaitama stays ahead of the competition.A/B Testing: Execute A/B tests on thumbnails, titles, descriptions, and other factors to determine what drives the best engagement.Collaboration: Collaborate closely with the content and marketing teams to align SEO strategies with the overall content calendar and TEDxMaitama’s brand objectives.Skills and QualificationsExperience: 3+ years of experience in YouTube SEO or digital marketing with a proven track record of growing YouTube channels.SEO Expertise: Deep understanding of YouTube’s algorithm, ranking factors, and SEO best practices, including keyword research, video optimization, and analytics.Analytics: Proficiency in YouTube Analytics, Google Analytics, and other SEO tools such as SEMrush, Ahrefs, TubeBuddy, or VidIQ.Content Strategy: Strong knowledge of how to craft compelling video content that drives both engagement and ranking.Creative: A keen eye for creating visually appealing video titles, thumbnails, and descriptions that encourage clicks.Communication: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with teams across the organization.Results-Oriented: Ability to set measurable goals and report on the impact of SEO efforts on video performance.Preferred QualificationsFamiliarity with social media trends and how they relate to YouTube video performance.Experience with paid YouTube advertising and driving traffic through paid strategies.A passion for TEDxMaitama’s mission and a deep interest in innovation, entrepreneurship, and social impact.Why Join TEDxMaitama?At TEDxMaitama, you’ll have the opportunity to make a real impact by helping share powerful, transformative ideas from Africa with the world.
