Reporting to the Sales & Marketing Director, this role is ideal for a sales-oriented individual with a passion for hospitality and proven success in driving revenue across multiple segments. While full training and ongoing development will be provided, a working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook is preferred. Key Responsibilities: Plan and oversee the day-to-day operation of the sales & marketing function within the hotel, ensuring maximum revenue and profitability. Provide exceptional service to both existing and potential clients.
Support the Director of Sales & Marketing (DOSM) in coaching and developing the sales & marketing team to exceed revenue targets across all market segments. Carry out daily sales activities, including lead generation, client meetings, rate negotiations, site inspections, contract finalisation, trade show attendance, client entertainment, and both national and international sales trips. Represent the hotel at internal sales meetings and external industry events. Collaborate with the DOSM to identify and manage corporate and Consortium RFPs relevant to the city, ensuring the hotel’s inclusion and exposure. Analyse GDS production reports and market intelligence to grow this channel.
Focus on driving meeting and conference business in collaboration with the DOSM. Build and maintain strong relationships within the conference and events sector, both nationally and internationally. Contribute to the hotel’s pricing strategy and forecasting alongside the DOSM, General Manager, and Revenue Manager. Utilise Alkimii CRM for updating client databases, recording all sales activities, and tracking KPIs. Flexibility & Cross-Functional Support: Support cross-functional operations to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the hotel. Demonstrate flexibility across departments as required by hotel management. Assist in other areas of the hotel as needed, depending on business levels and operational needs.
Requirements: Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role within hospitality or a customer service environment. Strong leadership skills and effective communication abilities. Commercially aware with excellent analytical thinking. Proven sales focus with a results-driven mindset. Ability to understand business indicators and interpret competitive market trends.
