Job Description

Objective / PurposeAs a Design Engineer (Secondary), the person shall be capable of reviewing & executing Secondary Engineering Activities for Substation Projects as per the direction of Design Lead (Secondary). He must have good knowledge in Protection & Automation System in Substation. The person shall be thorough with protection applications. She / He shall coordinate with vendors for finalization of the equipment after vendor evaluation.Key ResponsibilitiesTimely completion of all deliverablesResponsible for review of CRP (Control Relay Panels) and Automation drawings developed by the vendorInteract with Site Execution & Cluster teams for clarification w.r.t. the design of equipmentInteract with Vendor for clarification w.r.t. compliances to Technical Specifications & comments and QualityCoordinate with primary design engineer Obtaining specification requirement of the client and checklist for evaluation from the Design Lead (Secondary) / Project Engineering ManagersEvaluate Technical Offers based on Technical Specification (requirement) of the client and timely submission to Design Lead (Secondary) for reviewPrepare design calculations of CT / VT and battery sizing and development of DC & AC Single Line Diagrams of a Substation and submitting to the Design Lead for checkingReview Bill of Material and comparing with the Tender Quantity Pre-Tender Engineering including estimation of BOM (Bill of Materials) and Offer Reviews for secondary equipmentTechnical ExpertiseThe Design Engineer (Secondary) is required to have complete understanding of Secondary Engineering activities like Protection & Control Scheme drawings, SCADA and calculation of burden parameters of CT & CVT. The Engineer is required to have knowledge on National and International Codes and Standards.It is desirable to have knowledge on System Studies.
