From responding to 111 calls to supporting people to stay healthy through our mahi in health education, access, and monitoring, we are making life-changing differences every day.Job DescriptionHe aha te tūranga - About the role: As part of a new initiative, we have an exciting opportunity for registered healthcare professionals to join our Clinical Hub.As a Secondary Triage Clinician, you’ll work alongside a talented team of Clinical Support Officers to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care. In this pivotal role, you’ll be responsible for conducting secondary triage and providing timely clinical advice and support via telephone and digital platforms.This role can be based at our Integrated Operations Centres in Auckland or Christchurch. Standard hours are rostered 8-hour shifts, Monday to Sunday, between 7:00am and 11:00pm, with some flexibility to extend as service demand requires.This is a great opportunity to use your clinical expertise in a dynamic and supportive environment, helping ensure patients receive the right care at the right time.Key responsibilities:Work collaboratively within the Integrated Operations Centre environment to offer clinical advice and guidance to patients, with an overall focus on achieving the best possible outcome for the patient. Conduct secondary triage assessments for patients.Utilise evidence-based triage protocols and clinical judgement to determine the urgency and appropriate level of care required. Communicate effectively with patients, relatives and health professionals to assess symptoms, provide health advice, and support self-care when appropriate. Return incidents to dispatch queue with appropriate emergency ambulance response.Document clinical interactions accurately and timely in electronic health records or designated triage platforms. QualificationsKo wai koe - About you: A registered New Zealand healthcare professional with a relevant APC (Nurse, Paramedic) with a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience, with triage, emergency, primary care, or telehealth experience preferred. Demonstrated clinical expertise with the ability to apply sound clinical judgment in complex situations.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and confidently.Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team environment.Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills, ensuring safe and appropriate patient outcomes.Confident using clinical decision support tools and electronic health systems to inform and document care.Additional InformationMe pēhea te tuku tono - How to apply Click “I’m interested” before applications close on Sunday 7 December 2025.
