This role is ideal for a finance professional with strong technical expertise, a CPA designation, and a proven ability to manage complex financial activities with accuracy and integrity.About the RoleThe Senior Accountant will play a key role in preparing, analyzing, and auditing financial reports. This position oversees budgeting and financial management, ensures compliance across all financial activities, and supports the organization in maintaining a healthy and transparent financial position. The ideal candidate has a strong command of accounting principles and enjoys working in a structured, fast paced environment.Required Skills, Education and Experience• CPA designation• Minimum of five years of post qualification experience• Strong proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel and Word• Experience with Yardi Systems and QuickBooks• Skilled in budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management and financial systems• Strong written and verbal communication skills• High attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities• Comfortable working independently and within a team• Confident interacting with clients in person and by phone• Willingness to learn standard firm software and internal toolsKey Responsibilities• Maintain and audit financial records across multiple entities• Oversee budgeting, forecasting and financial planning• Manage bookkeeping responsibilities including vendor payments, payroll and government filings• Ensure compliance for audits, taxes and financial reporting• Prepare month end closings and journal entries• Analyze financial information to ensure taxes are filed accurately and on time• Monitor accounts payable and receivable• Identify and investigate discrepancies or variances• Create, review and analyze budgets• Advise leadership on the financial impact of business decisions• Support areas such as compensation, benefits and asset protection• Participate in fraud prevention, strategic planning and financial oversight• Maintain relationships with auditors, insurance providers and financial partnersBenefits• Vacation and paid time off• On site gym• On site parking• Casual dress environment• Access to CFIB network and member discounts
