Job Description
The Senior Accountant will oversee accounting operations, ensuring that accounting across all entities and jurisdictions is accurate, timely, and compliant. You will act as the primary point of contact for auditors, senior finance leadership, with full ownership over financial governance, reporting accuracy, and compliance across jurisdictions. This role requires strong technical accounting knowledge, deep understanding of internal controls and compliance framework, also risk management. Key ResponsibilitiesGeneral Ledger (GL) & ReportingMaintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring all entries are accurate, complete, and compliant with accounting standardsManage month-end closing activities, prepare and analyze financial reports including profit & loss, balance sheet, and cash flow statementsSupport the budgeting and forecasting process by providing accurate financial dataMonitor and reconcile intercompany accounts, accruals, provisions, and other GL balancesMaintain the fixed asset, lease and other relevant registers, ensuring accurate recording of acquisitions, disposals, transfers, and depreciationAccounts Payable (AP)Supervise the AP function, ensuring accurate invoice verification, approval, posting, and payment processingPrepare vendor account reconciliations, dispute resolution, and timely settlement of duesEnforce internal controls to prevent fraud, errors, and compliance gapsAccounts Receivable (AR)Oversee invoicing, collections, credit control, and reconciliations Work with project accounting teams to resolve billing disputes and minimize bad debtsPrepare AR aging reports and analyse collection trendsCash ManagementPrepare cash forecasts to ensure smooth and timely payments to vendorsMonitor cash balances across the group companies, ensure necessary and timely funding of entity bank accountsLiaise with banks for day to day operations, queries, changes in approval workflowsAudit & ComplianceServe as the primary contact for external auditors and advisorsPrepare documentation and schedules to support both internal and external auditsEnsure compliance with IFRS/GAAP, tax, and regulatory requirementsMaintain and improve internal controls to safeguard assets and enhance governance Qualifications and Requirements:8-10 years’ progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or senior accountant role, with exposure to group companies and consolidationStrong knowledge of IFRS/GAAP, local taxation, and regulatory frameworksStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insightExcellent communication skills and the ability to influence stakeholders across technical, operational, and executive levelsPrior experience in the healthcare, public sector, or technology/software industries is highly desirableAccounting qualification (CPA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) requiredProficiency using Netsuite required
