This is a permanent full-time position which is structured as 100% remote. Candidates from all across Canada are welcome to apply as we support fully remote positions regardless of province or territory.The Accounting Associate position is responsible for a variety of bookkeeping, accounting and other financial tasks to ensure the daily accounting functions run accurately and efficiently for all of Southbrook’s clients. This role will require the individual to maintain a system to keep multiple responsibilities on track. This position involves interaction with the team and support of Southbrook’s clients. This position involves 100% remote working.Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for:Accounting: record bank and credit card transactions, prepare reconciliationsMonth-end close: Manage monthly working paper files, analysis, financial reportingPayroll: Gather and review time records and process regular pay runs, process payroll remittances, record of employments (ROEs), T4s, File WSIB returnsMaintain an organized system of digital client recordsAbout YouYou have a Bachelor's Degree in AccountingCPA designation or working towards/equivalentYou have been working remote for more than 2 yearsYou have 3+ years experience working in an Accounting Firm working with small businessesYou have 5+ years hands-on experience working in a full cycle accountingYou are a whiz with QBO, QB Desktop & Microsoft Office Excel, and are always eager to learn new technologiesYou have a focus on building and managing meaningful internal and external client relationshipsYou have excellent time management and organizational skills to juggle multiple deadlines and engagementsConstruction industry related experience, project based accounting experience considered an assetMaintain and update financial records using QBO and other accounting software.Perform account reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial statements.Prepare and process payroll accurately and on time.Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including balance sheets and income statements.If you are passionate about numbers, possess strong analytical skills, and are looking for an opportunity to contribute to our organization's success, we encourage you to apply for this position as a Accounting Associate.
