We are also committed to ensuring Oranga Tamariki partners with hapū, iwi and Māori organisations to find appropriate solutions for tamariki in need.About the team | Mo te roopu:The System Leadership, Privacy Team supports Oranga Tamariki by creating the awareness, culture and conditions to safely and ethically use the information by our business.The purpose of the Senior Advisor - Privacy role is to provide specialist advice to strengthen the integrity and maturity of management of data, information, privacy and records of Oranga Tamariki. This role will provide support to ensure an Oranga Tamariki culture where information, records and people are kept safe while the maximum value for decision making is derived.About the role | Mō te tūnga Provide specialist advice and support to Oranga Tamariki to embed increasingly mature privacy practices and frameworksDevelop, deliver and maintain components of the privacy programme including policies, process and tools - maintain expert knowledge in public sector privacy / information sharing practicesProvide privacy advice and support to Oranga Tamariki staff on individual cases.Provide information management advice and support as required.Actively identify and advise on organisational and operational risks - Ensure that analysis, data and information supplied is accurate and verifiedThis role is based in our National Office. While being close to the team can be beneficial given the dynamic nature of the work, we value flexibility and trust our people to deliver wherever they are. Candidates based in Wellington or willing to relocate are preferred, but for the right person we’re open to hybrid or remote working arrangements.Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu | What you will bringProven data and privacy experience, including lifting organisational practice through the development and application of policies, frameworks and toolsDemonstrated experience in advising and supporting people at all levels of large complex organisationsExcellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to write documents that are clear, concise and in plain languageSound understanding of the corporate governance environment, particularly in the public sectorUnderstanding and appreciation of cross-cultural practices in particular; knowledge of tikanga Māori, and Pacific peoples' cultureWhile not essential, a current legal practicing certificate or eligibility to obtain one would be an advantage.Nōu te rourou | What's in it for youOranga Tamariki offer a step-based remuneration package, that offers progression annually for experience through tenure. Annual remuneration for this position starts between $106,416 and 117,782 dependant on experience.
