Our teams are also involved in enhancing coastal resilience, managing flood risks, and developing long-term water resource strategies that balance supply, sustainability, and climate resilience. Together, these projects reflect our commitment to building healthier, more resilient communities across Aotearoa.With a large and growing pipeline of secure work ahead, our team in Auckland is looking for a Senior Associate Design Manager to join them. While this is a senior role in our team, it’s also a chance to stay hands-on, lead by example, and help shape meaningful outcomes for our communities. You’ll be a trusted advisor to our clients, a leader within our team, helping mentor the leaders of tomorrow, and a key contributor to delivering technically excellent, sustainable solutions across complex, multi-disciplinary projects.There are three key parts to this role; the main purpose is to manage the deliverables of complex, multi-disciplinary projects, to provide specialised technical service at a high level, developing solutions to complex problems requiring an extensive understanding of practices, techniques, concepts and theoretical principles. Secondly, to establish and maintain client relationships. And thirdly to assist in mentoring and driving improvement within the team. The role will co-ordinate different groups involved in design and oversees multi-disciplinary teams. Reports on and monitors progress on designs responsible for. Interprets internal and external business issues and recommends best practice. Considers multiple perspectives to identify different solutions. Takes a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions. Identifies applications of functional knowledge and existing methodologies to complex problems. Able to work independently and lead functional teams or projects.Here's what you'll needThe Senior Associate Design Manager is responsible for providing consultancy and engineering services in the market in the ANZ region including Deliver technically excellent engineering designs and consultancy services. Manage deliverables of complex, multi-disciplinary projects. Carry out independent design/review/assurance on projects. Drive business development and be responsible for work winning, identify the next opportunities and support the winning of the opportunities Assist with bid preparation and submittals as required, support section leader, project managers in the delivery of financially successful projects. Develop and maintain strong key client relationships – act as a trusted advisor to a select group of Jacobs key clients across the public and private sector. Develop Jacobs’ capabilities and reputation in South East Asia, NZ and Australia by representing Jacobs at key thought leadership events. Manage projects delivering on cost, on time, and resulting in client satisfaction. Maintain compliance with Jacobs QA procedures, including the deliverables review QA process. Facilitate the technical development of more junior resources to meet market requirements. Engage with high performers in a team environment to facilitate knowledge sharing and coaching.
