Senior Business Analyst • Contract duration: 6 + 6 months • Location of work: QLD, ACT / Hybrid • Application closing date: Sunday, 02 November 2025• Estimated start date: Tuesday, 09 December 2025• Security Clearance: Existing or able to obtain baseline Our federal client, the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications, Sport and the Arts, is seeking a Senior Business Analyst. Selection criteria• Business Analysis Expertise – Proven ability to lead requirements gathering, analysis, and documentation for large, complex programs or projects.• Process Mapping and Improvement – Demonstrated experience in analysing, modelling, and redesigning business processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.• Stakeholder Engagement – Strong capability in facilitating workshops, managing diverse stakeholder relationships, and translating business needs into actionable outcomes.• Project and Change Support – Experience supporting project planning and delivery, including alignment of business requirements with system and organisational objectives.• Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills – Ability to assess options, evaluate feasibility, and provide evidence-based recommendations for system and process improvements.• Communication and Documentation – Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of producing clear business requirements, workflows, and recommendation reports.• Tools and Methodologies – Proficiency in business analysis and process design tools (e.g. Visio, BPMN) and familiarity with PPM or project management systems.• Government or Public Sector Experience (Desirable) – Understanding of government processes, governance frameworks, and reporting requirements.
