POSITION: Senior Business and Data Insight Analyst - (Hybrid Schedule)LOCATIONS: Pittsburgh, Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, Princeton, Chicago, Houston, Miami, DallasSenior Business and Data Insight Analyst- (Hybrid Schedule) | AM Law 100 Law Firm | Multiple Cities| Our prestigious and award-winning global AM LAW 50 law firm client is hiring an experienced Senior Business and Data Insight Analyst to work out of multiple US offices. The Senior Business and Data Insight Analyst works closely with the leadership team and other stakeholders to help them understand the insights derived from data. This role combines analytical expertise, business acumen, and storytelling skills to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights that support strategy, decision-making, and business development. Responsibilities include analyzing and visualizing data, developing strategic recommendations, and delivering compelling narratives that communicate key findings. The role requires strong collaboration with cross-functional teams to build and maintain dashboards, reports, and data- driven tools that meet evolving business needs. Job Duties and Responsibilities Drive all phases of a strategic insights project, including identifying the business need, determining required inputs, working with other data professionals to ensure the data pipeline supports the insights needed, creating the development plan and visual design, building the necessary content, and ensuring a successful launch through testing, quality assurance, and training. Translate information from multiple sources—including analytic results, market intelligence, and cultural understanding—into impactful and actionable insights, providing clear guidance and recommendations that drive business strategies and decision-making. Convey complex data through compelling narratives, reports, and presentations that are accessible to leadership and other stakeholders using storytelling techniques.Leverage data visualization principles and tools to create visually impactful insights for decision-makers, reducing the time required to interpret data and providing at-a-glance understanding of issues and actions needed.Work with the Head of Strategic Insights, data scientists, and data analysts to understand and advance predictive and prescriptive analytics.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create compelling data stories that resonate with audiences and to develop strategic recommendations based on data insights. Design, develop, deploy, utilize, and evolve internal dashboards, reports, and analyses for fee earners and functional departments within the firm. Use these tools to monitor key business metrics and identify trends and opportunities in areas such as targeting, cross- selling, pitching, client reviews, events, practice development, planning, and strategy across client bases, geographies, industries, and practice areas.Create analytics-driven solutions that address business problems by understanding the characteristics of data sets, identifying patterns, and training end users on completed solutions to drive adoption. Analyze large and complex data sets using statistical methods and data visualization tools to support storytelling.Continuously monitor and evaluate data sources and analysis methods to ensure accuracy and reliability. Develop and maintain an understanding of key clients, their businesses, and the firm’s lawyer-client relationships, as well as legal industry issues and developments that impact the success of the firm and inform analytics and insights. Conduct research using information from the firm’s billing and CRM systems, as well as external sources, as needed to support analytic efforts. Work with stakeholders across functional departments to answer data-related questions and assist with ad hoc reporting and data analysis projects. Support the creation and maintenance of high-quality data at all phases of the lifecycle by contributing to decisions impacting data creation, transformation, storage, and governance. Stay up to date on industry trends and advancements in artificial intelligence and data science to inform storytelling strategies. Work closely with internal teams—including Innovation, Knowledge Management, Finance, Strategy, Client Value, Marketing, Alumni, HR, IT, Operations, Accounting, and Business Managers—to address data analytics needs.Assist in upholding standards, guidelines, and best practices for those involved in reporting, and influence analytics efforts across the firm.Assist in documenting and maintaining a glossary of metric measurements used in reporting and business analytics tools.Mentor and train junior analysts.Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Education:Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g. data science, statistics, communication, marketing) or equivalent experience. Experience: Required: Minimum of 7 years of experience in data analysis, visualization, and storytelling. Proven ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical audiences. Desired: Experience working in consulting, legal, or other professional environments that require continuous learning and regular communication of complex or challenging subject matter to business stakeholders. Skills: Expertise in: Microsoft Office Suite; database querying using SQL; and data analysis tools, including SQL, DAX, and Excel. Statistical analysis tools such as R or Python Data visualization tools (Tableau and Power BI preferred) and data visualization, UI/UX, and wireframing best practices. Data architecture principles; data warehouses (Snowflake preferred); and API integrations. Familiarity with: Machine learning and statistical modeling techniques. Project management tools and UAT processes. Other required skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation, training, reading, writing, and listening. Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify root causes and develop innovative solutions. High attention to detail and strong commitment to accuracy. Aptitude for quickly learning new technologies, industries, and tools. Ability to collaborate effectively with individuals at all organizational levels. Sound judgment, discretion, and professionalism in handling sensitive and confidential information. Demonstrated ability to drive innovation and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
