Job Description

As Senior Buyer you oversee the E2E business relationship with T1 suppliers, including sourcing, negotiations, vendor management and CSR. This role drives sourcing excellence across all dimensions: adaptability, responsibility and supply chain profitability, while managing planning, costing and production delivery in close collaboration with suppliers, business units, and supply chain teams. The ideal start date for this position would be January 1, 2026.Your responsibilitiesDevelop and execute sourcing plans, including comprehensive risk assessments and margin development, in line with Mammut’s sourcing strategy and targetsLead T1 supplier contract negotiations, both onsite and internationallySupport overall capacity booking, production planning and bulk production processes in collaboration with internal stakeholders and suppliersLead price negotiations, identify efficiencies and manage costing optimization initiativesDrive transformational projects and initiatives with internal and external stakeholdersCoordinate and manage supply chain optimization activities across cross-functional teams (e.g. optimizing Incoterms, payment terms, MOQs, surcharge and liability agreements, duty rates and lead times according to assortment structure)Implement and maintain risk management processes for the supplier base; ensure suppliers comply with general contracting terms and manufacturing agreementsEnsure that all systems and information related to T1 suppliers are well maintained and kept up to dateSupport material buying activities and assess lead time impacts on finished goods production to reduce delays and cost risksMonitor the supply chain for potential issues and proactively identify opportunities for optimization across the T1 vendor baseSupport and complete the annual Buying supplier evaluation in alignment with Mammut’s sourcing strategyCoordinate and support the yearly supplier summitContribute to CSR related business responsibility initiativesYour profileBachelor’s degree, preferably in purchasing, garment technology or textile related education, additional education or training in purchasing and/or management would be desirable7+ years of professional experience in sourcing, buying or purchasing within the outdoor or sports industryExperience working with European and Asian suppliersExperience in garment and textile, equipment and footwear development as well as innovation and new product development would be a plusTeam player with a collaborative mindset and skilled in managing internal and external relationshipsEffective communicator across culturesOwnership driven and proactive person with a creative and analytical way of thinkingOrganized, strategic and process-oriented as well as excellent presentation skillsStrong decision-making in fast-paced environmentsTime management and ability to handle multiple prioritiesKnowledge of supply chain and logistics basicsFluent in English, German and Vietnamese are a plusStrong knowledge in MS Office and PLM, ERP and Juro are desirableBenefits of working at Mammutnew ideas are being heard, and a dynamic and agile work environment provides fertile ground for their implementationyou benefit from a hybrid workspace with the possibility to work up to 50% from homemodern employment conditions and a good pension fund solution are self-evidentyou are perfectly equipped for your next adventure thanks to great discountsyour workday is well balanced thanks to the free sports program at Seon, access to the nearby climbing gym as well as the heavily frequented Barista coffee machine
