Senior Buyer

Job DescriptionThe Senior Buyer will manage and execute the processes for the acquisition of raw materials, based on a forecast and customer demand while maintaining an optimal inventory levelWhat You Will DoTransfer and implementation of functions according to the position needs between different manufacturing locationsProvide a communication link between sales demand and productionParticipate in a daily meeting with the operations group outlining the schedule and special activities expected on that dayPrioritize activities for the operations group when schedule conflicts arise and notify sales of the impact on customer expectationsEnsure upcoming needs are visible and reviewable by the rest of the organizationEnter Purchase Orders received from Sales into the production scheduleProvide lead times back to Planning on entered Purchase OrdersGenerate proposed solutions to expedite requests, computing the impact of each solution proposal offered. Reports requests and proposals to the supervisorEnsure all documents needed for production build, packaging, and/or shipment are available and easily accessiblePrepare and submit PO’s status and performance reportsDevelop strategies to reach company KPIsFollow up with suppliers’ issues in coordination with the Sourcing departmentWhat We Are Looking ForBachelor's degree6+ years of experience in a similar positionExperience in manufacturing transfers from external locations is a plusExcellent command of the English languageMRP and MS-Office & Excel XP good command and experience are requiredAPICS training (plus)Strong familiarity with production processes knowledgeKnowledge of ISO 9001, Lean Manufacturing, and Six SigmaPlanning experience is desirable
