Clinical CategoryHybrid positionCareer progression opportunities Our client is looking for a Senior Category manager for the clinical category.Your new company As a Senior Category Manager, you will lead the development and delivery of category management and procurement strategies across a complex sourcing stream. You'll oversee strategic sourcing, supplier segmentation, benefits management, and reporting frameworks while driving excellence in procurement processes.You'll mentor and manage a team of Category Managers, shape category strategies, and build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the health sector and industry. This role is pivotal in ensuring operational performance, risk mitigation, and the achievement of strategic organisational goals.Your new role Lead the delivery of the overall procurement and category management strategy across the relevant sourcing stream.Develop and implement category management plans, including strategic sourcing, supplier segmentation and supplier relationship management.Manage, coach and develop Category Managers, building capability and supporting a high‑performance culture.Oversee reporting requirements including KPIs, benefits, opportunities, business plan deliverables and legislative reporting.Build strong internal and external stakeholder relationships, representing the organisation in sector forums and supporting customer‑focused engagement.Drive the Sourcing Program, ensuring alignment with business plans, governance frameworks, probity expectations and compliance obligations.Lead the redevelopment and implementation of the Benefits Management Framework and support data accuracy, insights and continuous improvement.What you'll need to succeed Tertiary qualification in procurement, commerce, business administration, supply chain or related field.Understanding of the health sector (desirable).Extensive experience in procurement, category management and strategic sourcing.Strong commercial acumen and knowledge of commercial law.Proven ability to drive cost, service improvements and manage multi-site procurement environments.Experience developing procurement strategies, frameworks and governance processes.Experience working within a governance or compliance-driven environment.What you'll get in return The opportunity to lead category strategy and influence outcomes across a statewide sourcing function.A senior leadership role with scope to drive meaningful organisational improvements and innovations.The chance to work with a motivated team, fostering collaboration, development and continuous improvement.Professional growth through exposure to complex procurement environments and senior governance forums.The ability to contribute to high-impact procurement outcomes that support essential public services.What you need to do now If you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV to Natasha.Denby@hays.com.au If this job isn't quite right for you, but you are looking for a new position, please contact us for a confidential discussion about your career.
