Vitruvius is a business built on people, partnership and purpose, and we're excited to support them as they continue to shape the future of infrastructure in Aotearoa, and build capability to support our national transition to green renewable energy.As Vitruvius expands its footprint in land development and builds its capability in renewable energy generation (wind, solar) they are looking for a Senior Civil Engineer who can lead with credibility, bring clients on the journey, and contribute to building a high-performing team.This isn't just a technical role. Vitruvius needs someone who clients naturally trust, is genuine, energetic, commercially aware, and highly capable of owning design delivery while strengthening relationships across land development, transport, rail, water and the rapidly growing renewables sector.For the right person, there is potential to grow into a future leadership position and help shape a specialist team under you.The OpportunityBased in Tauranga (preferred), or Wellington/Auckland, you will:Lead and deliver land development and civil infrastructure projects from concept to completion ensuring quality, programme and budget outcomes.Utilise civil engineering skills for renewable energy projects such as wind farms, solar arrays, and BESS sites, covering utility design, stormwater assessment, drainage solutions, road access, earthworks design, and tender and contract management.Front clients confidently, build trusted long-term relationships, and contribute to Vitruvius' Land & Energy sector strategy.Mentor and develop junior engineers, lifting capability internally and contributing to the technical library and best-practice tools.Provide technical verification, quality assurance, MSQA support and oversee design outputs.Work closely with Sector Leads across transport, rail, water, land development and energy, navigating approvals and coordinating multi-disciplinary inputs.Help strengthen Vitruvius' presence across NZ's infrastructure and energy landscape as the consultancy expands its role in major projects.What You'll BringStrong experience in land development and civil engineering design and delivery.Proven ability to lead projects and guide junior engineers.Genuine client-facing ability - credible, commercial, energetic, great communicator.Understanding of NZ consenting frameworks, regulatory processes and industry standards.Technical strength across earthworks, three waters, stormwater, access design and civil interfaces.Exposure to (or strong interest in) renewable generation projects.Washington Accord engineering degree; working toward or holding CPEng is highly valued.A mindset aligned to Vitruvius' values of connection, bravery, continuous improvement, diversity, and enjoying the adventure.Why Join Vitruvius?Vitruvius is known for its relationship-led consulting model.
