We offer:100% Remote workSalary in USD per hourWork 40 hours per week Title: Senior Cobol DeveloperThe Senior Support Engineer will provide expert-level application and production support for mission-critical mainframe systems. The role requires advanced technical skills in COBOL and other mainframe technologies, Java as well as a strong working knowledge of ITIL processes to ensure efficient incident, problem, and change management. This individual will be a key contributor to maintaining system stability, resolving complex issues, and upholding service level agreements (SLAs). Requirements:Expertise in COBOL programming and mainframe environmentsJava – knowledge or hands-onTroubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to COBOL programs, Job Control Language (JCL), CICS transactions, and database errorsSolid understanding of ITIL methodologies, particularly for Incident, Problem, Change, and Release Management.Provide Level 2 and 3 technical support for mainframe applications, ensuring prompt and effective resolution of incidents.Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring problems and implement permanent fixes to prevent future occurrences, adhering to ITIL problem management standards.Utilize IT service management (ITSM) tools to manage the full lifecycle of incidents, problems, and changes according to ITIL processes.Develop and maintain technical documentation, knowledge base articles, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for support tasks.
