SUMMARY The Senior Coordinator for Student Housing provides leadership for the residential student experience at Mason Korea. This role is responsible for managing housing operations in collaboration with the IGC Housing office, supervising student staff, expanding off-campus housing opportunities, and leading programs that foster student success and well-being. The Senior Coordinator serves as a bridge between students, faculty, staff, families, and external partners to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive living-learning environment that aligns with Mason Korea’s mission and University Life goals. HOUSING MANAGEMENT Provide strategic leadership and oversight for Mason Korea housing operations in collaboration with the IGC Housing office, ensuring smooth processes for assignments, selection, break housing, check-in/out, and inspections. Analyze, maintain, and report on housing data related to assignments, retention, attrition, and occupancy trends, providing recommendations for long-term planning. Lead the management and continual improvement of daily housing operations for Mason Korea students. Oversee the development, implementation, and assessment of the First-Semester Experience (FSE) programs. Direct the Mason Korea housing selection process and ensure fairness, transparency, and compliance with university policies. Provide financial oversight for residential services programs, including budget planning, monitoring, and reporting. Ensure accuracy and accessibility of housing and residential life information on Mason Korea’s webpages. Expand and strengthen off-campus housing options by cultivating partnerships with local housing providers and community stakeholders. Cultivate and manage partnerships with external housing providers to establishadditional off-campus housing that aligns with university standards and supports student needs. Collaborate with the IGC Housing office to address room change requests and disciplinary cases with a developmental and student-centered approach. STUDENT SUPPORT AND DEVELOPMENT Serve in the on-call rotation with other University Life professional staff, responding to student crises, emergencies, and conduct concerns with sound judgment, appropriate intervention, and follow-up. Provide leadership in the design, implementation, and evaluation of First-Semester Experience (FSE) programs that foster student transition and success. Collaborate with faculty to integrate academic perspectives and engagement opportunities into First-Semester Experience (FSE) programs, supporting a strong transition to university life. Provide guidance and referrals for students navigating academic, personal, and wellness challenges, ensuring access to appropriate campus resources. Assess housing and residence life programs to measure effectiveness and continuously improve the student residential experience. Address complex student behavior concerns in residence halls, partnering with IGC Housing, RAs, and University Life staff to apply an educational and restorative approach. Support Student Care and Conduct processes by managing higher-level student conduct cases and serving as a resource for staff handling student concerns. SUPERVISION Provide leadership in the recruitment, selection, training, and evaluation of Resident Assistant (RA) staff, in collaboration with IGC Housing and the Mason Korea University Life team. Supervise and mentor RAs, offering ongoing feedback, coaching, and professional development opportunities. Hold staff accountable to University and IGC policies, fostering a culture of responsibility and integrity. Guide RAs in fulfilling administrative duties with accuracy and efficiency. Provide vision and direction for RA programming that promotes academic success, well-being, inclusion, and community development. Serve as a resource and mentor for other University Life staff in the area of housing and residential life. PARENTS & FAMILY ENGAGEMENT Plan and coordinate new student Family Orientation in collaboration with relevant offices. Partner with University Life at Mason Korea and Fairfax and International Relations & Strategic Initiatives staff to develop and deliver comprehensive parent and family engagement materials and programming for students transitioning to the Fairfax campus. UNIVERSITY SUPPORT Actively represent Housing and Residence Life in University Life initiatives, committees, and major campus programs such as New Student Orientation, Convocation, and Mason Day, etc. Provide leadership and input on university-wide projects, committees, and special assignments as designated by administration. Collaborate with campus partners to align housing initiatives with institutional goals and student success priorities. REQUIREMENT Bachelor's degree Minimum of 3+years of professional experience working with university students, or a minimum of 1+years with a Master’s degreeExceptional professional proficiency and cross-cultural competency in both written and spoken English and Korean (required for policy communication and local partnerships). PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience with higher education administration, student affairs or services, counseling or related field Experience supervising, training, or mentoring junior staff On-call or emergency management response experience in a university and/or residential setting KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Advocate for student needs Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies Be familiar with services and programs that supports student success within student housing Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects independently and work in an environment with regular interruptions Ability to work independently, analyze and made decisions related to program content Skill in program coordination, including communication, organization, facilitation, and independent decision-making Ability to maintain databases and update department websites Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities while paying attention to details Proficient with operating a computer and various supporting software packages (i.e., Microsoft Office Suite, Google Calendar, Zoom) WORK ENVIRONMENT Require flexible hours, including occasional evening and weekend hours, with prior notice Work may require some physical exertion (I.e., standing, lifting, moving, etc.) Some work may be completed outside The pay scale of the Sr. Coordinator is from 46,000,000 KRW to 51,000,000 KRW per year based on previous working experiences.
