We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Corporate Accounting team. In this role, you'll be at the intersection of accounting and technology, driving critical month-end processes, financial reporting, and system integrations across our complex ecosystem within Amazon.You'll thrive in this role if you love working with data and systems, are always thinking outside the box for improvement opportunities, and can build strong partnerships across teams. If you're passionate about technical accounting, process optimization, and building scalable solutions that power our financial infrastructure, this role is for you.You can work from San Francisco, CA; Los Angeles, CA; Irvine, CA; or Seattle, WA.You Will:Perform monthly and quarterly close activities in key ownership areas, including journal entries, account reconciliations, GL account management, fluctuation analyses, and key performance metrics.Manage the close calendar and prepare consolidated financial reporting packages for leadership, coordinating with stakeholders to ensure timely completion of deliverables against established deadlines.Facilitate ledger closure and reconciliation of trial balance data between Twitch and Amazon accounting systems.Drive standardization of accounting documentation across Controllership by developing templates, establishing guidelines, and implementing best practices for knowledge management.Proactively identify opportunities for improvement in processes or systems, taking initiative and ownership to implement solutions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Controllership, Tax, Finance, G&A businesses, FinTech, Amazon Accounting) to understand upstream and downstream impacts and ensure accuracy of financial data.Support ad hoc analyses, special projects, and other team members as needed.You Have:4+ years of progressive accounting experienceBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldKnowledge in U.S. GAAP, SOX compliance, and financial reporting requirementsAttention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlinesMotivated to seek out and execute process improvements, especially by leveraging AI and automationExcellent communication skills with a record of success in developing relationships and presenting financial results effectivelyBonus PointsCPA certification or Big Four experienceExperience with SAP, Oracle Hyperion, BlackLine, QuickSight, Alteryx, Tableau, and related toolsExposure to emerging AI technologies and automation tools (e.g., MCPs and RPA) and their applications in accountingAvid Twitch user as a creator or viewer and passionate about the creator communityPerksMedical, Dental, Vision & Disability Insurance401(k)Maternity & Parental LeaveFlexible PTOAmazon Employee DiscountPursuant to the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, we will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.Pursuant to the Los Angeles Fair Chance Ordinance, we will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records. The base pay for this position ranges from our lowest geographic market up to our highest geographic market.
