Senior Cost Accountant

Position Summary:The Cost Accountant is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of cost-related data, calculating product costs, monitoring cost variances, and supporting management in cost analysis for decision-making. This role works closely with cross-functional teams to control inventory, resolve cost-related issues, and ensure compliance with internal control standards.Key Responsibilities:Control the update of cost-related data from relevant departments, ensuring accuracy and completeness for cost calculation purposes.Perform product cost calculations, review cost reasonableness, and analyze cost of goods sold (COGS) fluctuations compared to previous periods.Compare actual costs against planned costs for management and decision-making purposes.Monitor inventory movements of goods and raw materials in the system, investigate abnormal transactions, and coordinate with relevant departments to take corrective actions.Collaborate with other departments in conducting annual and ad-hoc inventory counts.Support production teams in resolving transactional issues such as COGI errors and data issues (e.g., unit of measure, unit price).Participate in projects to review and assess the usability of inventory.Provide cost and costing data to stakeholders upon request.Implement and monitor compliance with SOX requirements according to the RCM for internal controls related to costing.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Auditing, Finance, or related field.Minimum 5 years of experience in cost accounting, audit, preferably in a manufacturing environment.Strong understanding of cost accounting methods, inventory management, and ERP systems (SAP preferred).Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.Knowledge of SOX compliance is an advantage.
