Role: Sr. Analytics EngineerHours: 9am - 6pm Pacific Standard Time (Remote)USD Salary: negotiable based on experienceThe Senior Analytics Engineer generally works independently under general supervision and follows company and department policies and procedures to lead the design and execution of advanced data pipelines, reports, and visualizations. Collaborates with stakeholders, mentors junior team members, and drives data governance and process improvements. Serves as a subject matter expert (SME) or Trainual content owner in specialized department functions. Uses independent judgment, technical expertise, communication, and leadership skills to transform data into actionable insights to support business goals.ResponsibilitiesDesigns, tests, developments, manages and execution of complex data pipelines, reports and data visualizations for both internal operations and external client-facing tools. Strategizes and determines a course of action, assesses and resolves a wide range of issues, and provides counsel and advice as requiredLeads and executes projects with minimal supervision, demonstrating strong project management and organizational skillsCollaborates closely with business stakeholders to understand their data needs and translate them into effective and efficient solutionsBuilds strong relationships with team members using clear communication and fostering a collaborative and high-performing environmentCreates fully formed, standardized tasks and adheres to company task management processes within project management toolsContributes to the development and maintenance of data governance policies, standards, and best practices within the organizationLeads projects dedicated to the improvement of department processes and efficiencyEffectively communicates complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, including presentations and data visualizationsServes as an SME or Trainual content owner for multiple department-specific topics providing guidance and training to team membersMentors junior team members, fostering their development and ensuring alignment with team objectivesCollaborates with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvementsStays updated on industry trends and engages in continuous learning to enhance technical skills and expertiseMaintains or exceeds department-established performance standardsOther duties as assignedRequirementsBachelor’s degree or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent work experience. Highly specialized knowledge of computer systems or software, and the ability to design, develop, document, analyze, create, test, and modify computer systems or programsMore than five (5+) years of related experience in data analytics or related roles, two (2) years of which are highly relevant Proven expertise in analyzing data and metrics to develop and communicate effective solutions clearlyExpert proficiency in SQL and Python (or similar programming languages)Deep expertise in data transformation tools like dbt and cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure)Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and data modeling techniquesExperience with data version control tools (e.g., Git) and Agile development methodologiesExcellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skillsStrong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skillsA strong work ethic, a passion for data, and a commitment to continuous learningDemonstrates excellent understanding of department practices, procedures, and specialized functions.
