Artificial Intelligence is our reality. We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer with extensive hands-on experience in Data Architecture andEngineering to serve as a technical contributor within our team. This role focuses on working primarilywith Australian clients and the broader APAC region. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be responsiblefor designing, building, and deploying cutting-edge data solutions while contributing to establishingour data practice in Australia.Key Accountabilities● Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric, Azure DataFactory, and related Azure services to support ingestion, transformation, and curation ofenterprise data.● Collaborate with architects, analysts, data modellers, and business stakeholders to deliverhigh-quality, fit-for-purpose data solutions.● Participate in solution design and technical discussions to ensure robust, scalable, andmaintainable data architectures.● Implement performance-optimised and secure data workflows, ensuring compliance withrelevant governance and quality standards.● Create and maintain clear, accurate, and up-to-date technical documentation fordeveloped data assets, pipelines, and processes.● Engage effectively with technical and non-technical team members to ensure sharedunderstanding of requirements, solution approaches, and delivery expectations.● Translate business and analytical requirements into actionable technical solutions byleveraging appropriate Microsoft Fabric components and Azure services.CI&T | Senior Data Engineer 1● Ensure a stable and productive development environment, following CI/CD best practices,monitoring pipeline performance, and addressing issues promptly.Knowledge and Experience● Proven experience of more than 6+ in data engineering, data warehousing, and analyticsprojects, covering data ingestion, transformation, curation, and delivery.● Strong knowledge of modern data file formats such as Delta Tables, Apache Iceberg, andParquet.● Proficiency in Python, Spark, Azure Data Factory, and other relevant data transformation toolsand frameworks.● Expertise in data modelling across conceptual, logical, and physical layers, with knowledge ofDimensional Modelling and Data Vault 2.0 methodologies.● Experience with cloud data services, preferably within the Microsoft Intelligent Data Platformecosystem, with exposure to AWS or GCP data services as an advantage.● Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, and/orSnowflake.● Skilled in data pipeline orchestration using Azure Data Factory and related orchestrationframeworks.● Experience with CI/CD pipelines and familiarity with DevOps practices to enable automateddeployment and integration workflows.● Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Bicep for environmentprovisioning and configuration.● Solid understanding of data governance, data management practices, and securityconsiderations for cloud data platforms.● Competence in database performance tuning, optimisation, and advanced SQLdevelopment.● Familiarity with design patterns, clean architecture, and clean coding principles formaintainable and scalable data solutions.● Knowledge of unit, integration, and end-to-end testing in the context of data engineering.Personal Attributes● Mentorship: Ability to mentor and share knowledge with junior team members, fostering theirgrowth and development.● Consulting Mindset: Demonstrate adaptability in diverse situations, effectively managingchanging priorities while maintaining a positive attitude and thriving in ambiguousenvironments.CI&T | Senior Data Engineer 2● Communication: Strong communication skills, capable of communicating clearly andefficiently with team members and clients and presenting ideas effectively according to theaudience and context.● Non-functional Requirements: In-depth understanding of non-functional requirements,including performance, security, data privacy, and protection.● Passion for Data: A genuine passion for working with data, evident in your enthusiasm forcoding, experimenting, and problem-solving.● Innovative Spirit: Excited by the challenge of deploying pipelines and dashboards, with adrive to continuously improve and innovate.● AI Enthusiast: Keen interest in AI technologies, such as Generative AI, for self-augmentationand performance improvement.About us: We’re global digital specialists, here to Collaborate, Innovate andTransform business into the future.
