Senior Data Scientist

ResponsibilitiesKforce has a client seeking a hybrid Senior Data Scientist to join their team in Atlanta, GA. This person will focus on developing advanced optimization models and network design solutions to improve the companies supply chain efficiency, inventory management, and distribution strategies. This role combines data science, operations research, and machine learning to solve complex logistical challenges and support strategic decision-making. Responsibilities: Design and implement optimization models for inventory allocation, transportation routing, and warehouse network planning Develop network modeling frameworks to evaluate distribution center locations, capacity planning, and cost-to-serve analysis Apply linear programming, mixed-integer programming, and heuristic algorithms to solve large-scale supply chain problems Analyze historical and real-time data to identify patterns and improve forecasting accuracy Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Supply Chain, Finance, IT) to integrate optimization solutions into business processes Build simulation models to test scenarios and assess the impact of strategic decisions on service levels and cost Communicate insights and recommendations through clear visualizations and presentations for executive stakeholdersRequirements BS/BA in Data Science, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, or related field; MS preferred 5+ years in data science or optimization roles, preferably in supply chain or logistics Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and optimization libraries (e.g., Pyomo, Gurobi, CPLEX) Expertise in network modeling, linear/mixed-integer programming, and simulation techniques Familiarity with Snowflake and cloud-based data platforms Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Ability to translate complex models into actionable business strategiesThe pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law.
