This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies and contribute to the growth and success of our organization.Job ResponsibilitiesDesign, implement, and maintain databases to ensure high performance, reliability, and securityMonitor and optimize database performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks for optimal system efficiencyCreate and maintain indexes to enhance query performance and overall database efficiencyCollaborate with DevOps to develop backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and minimize downtimeWork with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into efficient database solutionsConduct regular database maintenance, including data purging, indexing, and tuningEnsure data security and compliance with industry standards and regulationsTroubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, providing effective solutionsMaintain thorough documentation of database schemas, procedures, and guidelinesStay current with database technologies and trends, recommending and implementing improvements as neededCollaborate with a California-based development team and offshore team members across various time zonesAvailable for overlap with US West Coast time for handovers and issue triage Candidate Profile Minimum of 5 years of experience with Database Solutions, with a focus on Amazon RDS for MySQL and PostgreSQLProven track record in managing, optimizing, and securing cloud-based, enterprise-level databases on AWSHands-on experience with Amazon RDS and familiarity with AWS tools and services related to database management and securityRelevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Database – Specialty, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) are a plusProficiency in scripting languages (e.g., SQL, Python) for automation and data manipulation within AWS environmentsStrong understanding of database architecture, data modelling principles, and best practices for RDS database deployments on MySQL and PostgreSQLKnowledge & SkillsBachelor's degree in Computer Science or comparable experienceProven experience as a Database Solutions Engineer, with a focus on managing enterprise-level databasesStrong knowledge of database management systems, such as MySQL or PostgreSQLProficiency in database design, implementation, and optimizationExperience with database performance tuning and query optimization techniquesSolid understanding of data security and compliance requirementsFamiliarity with backup and recovery strategies and toolsExcellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skillsStrong communication and collaboration abilities, with the capacity to work effectively in cross-functional teamsAbility to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environmentCompensation, Benefits And Work AuthorizationIn addition to a base salary, this position is eligible for a performance bonus and benefits (subject to eligibility requirements). Total compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to, type of position, location, education level, work experience, and certifications.
