Senior Design Engineer - Aeronautical Structures

We are looking for a Senior Design Engineer - Aeronautical Structures in Évora, PortugalIn this role, you will be responsible for the design and development of aeronautical structures using steel and composite materials. You will lead the design process using advanced CAD tools and ensure that components meet manufacturing and certification standards. Your work will directly support the structural integrity and buildability of critical aerospace components.Your main tasks will be: Design and modeling of primary and secondary aircraft structures using steel and composite materials Ensure manufacturability, tolerancing, and design compliance with aerospace standards Use 3DEXPERIENCE, CATIA V5, and ENOVIA VPM to manage and deliver design work Collaborate with stress engineers, manufacturing teams, and certification engineers Create and review technical drawings, 3D models, and design documentation Participate in design reviews and support continuous improvement in design methodologies Deliver designs in alignment with project schedules and quality targets RequirementsAbout you: You hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aeronautical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering, or are a qualified CAD Design Technician You have 20+ years of senior-level experience in the design of aeronautical structures You have deep expertise in steel and composite structural design, manufacturing methods, and tolerancing You are fluent in English (mandatory); Spanish and Portuguese are highly valued Mandatory skills: Expertise in 3DEXPERIENCE, CATIA V5, and ENOVIA VPM Strong understanding of aerospace design standards, GD&T, and design-for-manufacture principles Proven collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams in aerospace development projects Added Value: Experience working with OEMs or Tier 1 aerospace suppliers Familiarity with configuration management and PLM systems Mastered Tools: CAD: 3DEXPERIENCE, CATIA V5, ENOVIA VPMYour personality: Detail-oriented, methodical, and highly collaborative Able to manage complex deliverables under tight deadlines Strong focus on quality, efficiency, and team success BenefitsStrategic career progression with international mobility opportunitiesAdvanced training and leadership development in high-profile aerospace programsEmpowering team culture with direct impact and cross-functional collaboration and more
