KGaA – a European private equity fund specializing in the acquisition of medium-sized companies in special situations.Mutares focuses on businesses with significant operational improvement potential, aiming to drive sustainable, long-term growth through strategic acquisitions and hands-on support from its investment, financial, and consulting teams. Due to continued expansion, we are seeking a candidate open to frequent business travel across Europe.Position: Senior Director – Finance Transformation Team.Key Responsibilities:Lead restructuring and performance improvement initiatives within Mutares portfolio companies. Collaborate with local CFOs and management teams to develop turnaround strategies based on financial analysis and integrated financial models. Design and implement financial solutions such as factoring, asset-based lending, and credit facilities. Optimize month-end closing processes and contribute to broader financial and controlling activities. Support the preparation of financial statements and audits. Manage relationships with external stakeholders including auditors, financial advisors, banks, and credit insurers. Qualifications:University degree in Finance or Management. Over 12 years of international experience in Big4, investment banking, management consulting, or corporate finance/controlling, ideally with exposure to restructuring projects. Strong problem-solving skills, resilience under pressure, and ability to work in fast-paced environments. Fluent in English; German language skills are highly desirable. Advanced financial modeling and cash flow forecasting capabilities. Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel. Willingness to travel across Europe (typically Monday to Thursday).
