Job Description

Job Purpose- To lead a team of senior transactors involved in structuring and execution of financing multi-bank deals across Mashreq’s multiple core markets.- The holder of the job is responsible for maintaining Mashreq’s underwriting standards in the syndicated loan markets and oversee a successful conclusion of Mashreq lead transactions.- Manage and deliver on internal (approving authorities) and external stakeholder’s expectations on highly complex transactions especially in the leveraged finance space.- Continuously enhance knowledge base and seek to establish new capabilities and suggest alternative funding structures to stay ahead of competition.Key Result AreasStructuring- Closely working with internal (origination team and relationship & risk management) and external (bank customers/counter-party banks & legal counsels) to structure deals meeting the requirement of all the parties.- Responsible for extensive financial, operational, and legal due diligence relying on both internal & external resources.- Managing the team responsible for the preparation of detailed financial models/business plan(s).- Putting together structures (viz term sheets) that make a transaction bankable, which are executable within the reasonable timelines as well as meet client requirements.Execution- Closely working with external (client, participating banks & external legal counsels) and internal (documentation, legal, relationship & risk teams) for successful execution of facility agreement within the overall parameters & timelinesOther Areas- Co-origination efforts for select highly structured complex deals.- Supporting the origination team on deal origination efforts.- Oversee the team handling & managing post-closing matters, on a need basis, such as covenant compliance, condition subsequent, special client requirements or one-off amendment processesKnowledge, Skills and Experience- A robust multi product Investment Banking skill set that covers the entire capital structure with a predominant focus on raising capital in the debt market.- Strong quantitative skills with in-depth knowledge of financial modeling/valuation methodologies.- Highly developed presentation skills.- Working knowledge of essential legal matters in documentation.- A proactive and energetic personality with the ability and desire to multitask across origination, structuring, development and execution areas.- The candidate will have a minimum of 14 years’ of experience spent with one or better known regional or global institution involved in similar nature of business.
