Your New RoleAs Senior Director / VP, Risk (Head of Risk), you will lead the design, governance, and execution of the enterprise risk strategy across fraud, credit, and loss management. This is a pivotal leadership role where you will:Define and execute a multi-year risk strategy that aligns with growth and regulatory expectations.Set the vision and roadmap for fraud prevention, credit underwriting, and loss management functions.Own and manage the Risk P&L, including fraud and credit loss performance, recovery, and forecasting.Establish scalable frameworks for risk governance, policies, and reporting structures tied to company-level financial goals.Partner with senior executives to articulate and operationalize risk appetite, balancing growth and customer experience.Lead investment planning for risk-related technology, data infrastructure, and vendor partnerships.Chair cross-functional Risk Councils and drive alignment between Payments, Finance, Product, and Legal.Provide strategic input into new product launches, partner integrations, and global expansion efforts.Represent the Risk function externally with regulators, banking partners, and key third-party providers.Build and scale a high-performing team, fostering an inclusive, performance-driven culture focused on accountability and continuous learning.Drive innovation through analytics, automation, and predictive modeling to enhance fraud detection and credit decisioning.Your leadership will be instrumental in shaping financial resilience, regulatory credibility, and customer trust as the company scales globally. What You’ll Need to SucceedExperience: 10+ years in risk management, including 5+ years leading enterprise-level programs.Expertise: Proven success building and scaling risk functions in fintech, payments, or financial services, ideally within a SaaS model.Knowledge: Deep understanding of fraud detection, credit underwriting, and risk-adjusted profitability models.Leadership: Track record of influencing executive decision-making and building high-performing teams.Regulatory Acumen: Strong knowledge of payments regulations (e.g., PCI DSS, FINTRAC, AML/KYC).Analytical Skills: Ability to translate data into actionable insights and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.Additional credentials such as a Master’s degree or certifications (CAMS, CFE, CRCM) are a plus.
