We are seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Senior Education Officer (EOSD) in Darling Downs South West Region. This position will support schools to embed teaching approaches that build a language foundation for successful classroom learning for EAL/D learners through Multi- Tiered System of Supports (MTSS). Find out more about working with us .Why this Role?As the Senior Education Officer, you will work collaboratively with school and regional staff to:Develop and operationalise strategic initiatives to support educational outcomes by providing specialist expertise and services to senior management on a range of strategies.Participate in a range of project teams to implement reform strategies by understanding and ensuring compliance with the legislation and policies that impact on initiatives.Responsibilities IncludeApplies specialist expertise related to supports for students from an EAL/D background to oversee and manage all aspects of implementing departmental initiatives and strategies, focusing on actions relating to project management and leadership of relevant programs.Understands the current educational environment and provides expert advice on processes and protocols for a coordinated implementation approach to a range of strategies to support EAL/D learners.Effectively liaise, consult and collaborate with relevant internal and external stakeholders to provide high quality advice within agreed state wide frameworks and regional processes.Demonstrates a high level commitment to professional development and the best practice approach to implement strategies that contribute to improvement.Employs high quality communication skills to build understanding of the practicalities of improvements to ensure uptake of whole school, targeted and intensive improvement strategies and initiatives.Provide current educational research, evidenced based practices and effective use of available technology to lead and support school teams with the aim of improving student outcomes.Design and implement effective options that are data informed and align to improvement initiatives with statewide implementation activities.Interested?
