We are proud to have the blueprint of Aotearoa New Zealand in our DNA and our 2,000 expert professionals in 35 offices are united by the common purpose of creating positive, long-lasting impacts on the communities we serve. A fantastic opportunity exists in our Napier office for a highly capable Senior Bridge Engineer to take on a dual role – providing technical expertise while also leading and managing the Napier Bridge Engineering Team. As an integral member of the Napier business, you will deliver technical services with a strong focus on bridge and civil structures. This includes asset management, maintenance strategies, whole-of-life and condition assessments, option identification, design, reporting, technical documentation, project management, and construction observation for transport infrastructure projects. Your leadership will be instrumental in driving the growth of the bridge engineering sub-sector. You’ll also play a key role in mentoring and developing the technical capabilities of individual team members, fostering a high-performing and collaborative team culture.What you'll do Provide consultancy services in bridge and civil structures asset management, including maintenance strategies, whole-of-life cost analysis, condition assessment, option identification, design, reporting, technical documentation, project management, and construction observation of transport projects.Deliver sound technical solutions using appropriate tools and software to support asset management.Prepare and review clear reports, asset management strategies, and technical papers.Lead and oversee the preparation of physical works contracts, construction monitoring, and effective contract management.Undertake or oversee technical reviews and verification of projects and deliverables.Mentor and manage team and support their professional development.Foster a high-performance team culture and promote collaboration and knowledge sharing across the business.Lead the management of bridge and civil structures projects, including planning, budgeting, and quality assurance.Build and maintain strong client relationships, pursue new opportunities, and support business development.What you'll bringBachelors degree civil or structural engineering, or related discipline.Preferably a minimum of 10 years’ professional experience in bridge and civil structures engineering, including project management, design, and asset management.People leadership and management experience.CPEng status, or close to submitting CPEng application.Strong knowledge of relevant design codes, standards, legislation, and practices.High emotional intelligence, integrity, and a client-centric approach.Current clean driver’s licence.Why Napier?Located in the heart of Hawke’s Bay, Napier offers an exceptional lifestyle that blends professional opportunity with natural beauty.
